The addon used to

show a symbol in different colour,
display a notice, and
not allow to report an issue for a website

when a website already had an issue reported.

Now, this functionality is not working anymore.

Instead, I can try to report an issue through the addon, and only after submitting I am told that the report was not submitted and that an issue already exists.

(Sometimes, or on a second try, the old behaviour resumes.)
